Abstract

The TA15 powder ingots were successfully fabricated by powder hot isostatic pressing. The influence of heat treatment on the microstructural homogeneous and tensile properties has been investigated. The optimum heat treatment route was solution and aging treatment, i.e., 930 °C/2h/WQ + 600 °C/4h/AC, it attributed to improving the microstructure homogeneity. With the secondary αs phase precipitated within the β matrix, the tensile strength was also improved. Furthermore, the fracture mechanisms for the different microstructures were discussed in detail.
