Abstract

In order to deal with uncertainties existing in the models of helicopters more effectively, a novel GA-based H_infinity robust controller design method for a certain helicopter's lateral motion is proposed. In this method, GA is used to optimize the parameters of weighting functions matrices with the knowledge of structure of weighting functions matrices. Meanwhile, related requirements of ADS-33D are viewed as constraints of GA intention to provide helicopters preferable handling qualities. The simulation results show that the designed lateral flight control system is of preferable robustness and handling qualities.
