Abstract

Most of the recent researches in time-delay-estimation are concentrated on the adaptive deconvolution, and it's well known that whose minimum-delay-resolution is the sampling interval of the original data, hence it's impossible to obtain enough delay resolution in the case of short data records. The limitations of the conventional delay estimation methods were pointed out here, then two delay estimation methods of high resolution (the delay-frequency estimation, and eigenstructure methods) were put forward which can break the above limitations. Their principle and characteristics were described here in detail, and the computer simulation results were also given. Besides, a comparison was listed to show the performances of the main methods used in the time-delay-estimation.
