Abstract
A high-gain rectangular microstrip antenna was designed based on the particular nonlinear dispersion relation of inductor-loaded transmission line. On the condition of keeping the center operating frequency almost unchanged, gain of the proposed antenna can be enhanced effectively by a simple enlargement of its physical size, and the gain is adjustable. It is shown that the measured gain of the proposed antenna increases by 1.88 dBi comparing with that of the conventional microstrip antenna.
