Abstract

The Ti60 titanium alloy, as one of high-temperature titanium alloys, has good creep resistance against high temperature, excellent thermostability at the servicing temperature of 600 °C. The microstructure and the phases are investigated through Optical microscopy (OM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) after thermohydrogenation treatment of the Ti60 titanium alloy. The grains have been refined significantly through the thermohydrogenation treatment, and the occurrence and disappearance of the hydride phase TiH2 is a main mechanism of grain refinement in the thermohydrogenation treatment of Ti60 titanium alloy.
