Abstract

Defects in large diameter thin-walled tube NC bending process is serious. In the study, bending dies and device such as interlock design, close pitch flexible mandrel, constrain beam and booster with long lining have been proposed to overcome the defects. The forming quality and strain distribution laws of Φ70 mm × 1.5 mm × 105 mm (OD × WT × CLR) thin-walled tube NC bending process have been investigated by the experiment and the role of booster in thin-walled tube NC bending process is also studied.
