Abstract
The X ray real time radiography (RTR) technique was employed to study experimentally the particle trajectories of the two phase flow in the combustion chamber of the solid rocket motor. The composite propellant with lightweight aluminum particles was replaced with the double base propellant with dense tungsten particles, which is loaded in slots. The experimental results have shown that the particles trajectories may pass through the axis of symmetry of the combustion chamber and the effect of gravity on the particle trajectories may be negligible.
