Abstract

The effects of deformation process parameters, including deformation temperature, strain rate and strain, on the microstructure of TC6 titanium alloy were investigated through isothermal compression and metallographic experiments. The results show that the deformation process parameters have significant influence on the microstructure of TC6 titanium alloy. In two phases, volume fraction of phase decreases with the increase of temperature, but grain size increases first and then decreases with that. The strain rate affects the morphologies and grain size of TC6 titanium alloy phase. The suitable strain rate makes grain size fine by accelerating the dynamic recrystallization of TC6 titanium alloy. The strain has the same effect as the strain rate when it overtakes the threshold.
