Abstract

The influence of liquid phase on the properties of Bi(2223)/Ag superconducting tapes has been investigated in this paper. By the comparison of two kinds of tapes, one with liquid phase existing in the process of (2223) phase formation and another without, we found that the liquid phase can make the sample sensitive to the sintering temperature, restore damage such as microcracks caused by pressing and can lead to better connectivity between the (2223) platelets, thus considerably improve Jc (77K,0T).
