Abstract
A description has been given on the effect of high temperature treatment on the tribological properties of carbon/carbon (C/C) composites prepared by chemical vapour deposition. The curve diagram of the brake moment-brake time of different temperature treated samples was analyzed. The results indicated that with the increase of the heat treatment temperature, the average dynamic frictional coefficient (FC) of C/C composites is decreased in dry condition, but the average dynamic FC in damp condition and static FC in dry condition are increased. After C/C composites are treated under 2500°C, they have smooth brake process and small wear, and the average dynamic FC of four kinds of samples treated under different temperatures is reduced in dry and damp condition as the brake pressure and energy are raised.
