Dynamic analysis method of dynamic character coefficient of hydrodynamic journal bearing

Abstract

Dynamic analysis method is proposed to study the transient response of the dynamic character coefficient of hydrodynamic journal bearing. The transient response of displacement and the prediction of oil film pressure are analyzed by using finite element method (FEM) and finite difference algorithm respectively. The dynamic characters are calculated by numerical integral algorithm. The coupling process of rotor dynamics analysis and the dynamic character coefficient of journal bearing is achieved by the interdisciplinary iteration at every step. The dynamic coefficient and static coefficient of turbocharger rotor system, for example, are analyzed respectively. The effects of gap width, bearing length and oil viscosity on the dynamic coefficient are studied. By the comparison between the results and the conclusions in the literature, the effectiveness of proposed method is verified.
