Abstract
—To guarantee aligned polarization between transmitting (TX) and receiving (RX) antennas, dual isolated channels can be established through shared aperture of TX and RX dual-linearly polarized (DLP) antennas. Under excitations of microwave energy and data individually at vertically and horizontally polarized (VP/HP) ports of TX DLP antenna, it enables both balanced RF-to-dc rectification and differential data demodulation insensitive to tilts of RX DLP antenna polarization with employment of a hybrid coupler and two identical sub-rectifiers. All circuits are fabricated on a 20-mil low-loss substrate, Rogers RO4350B (tanδ = 0.0037 and εr = 3.66). Selected polarization tilts (ϕ, 0∼90◦, Δϕ = 30◦) are conducted as experimental measurements, which along with theory analysis validate its robustness of dual channels for polarization-insensitive microwave energy and data co-delivery.
