Abstract

A direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method for jamming based on the adaptive sidelobe canceller is proposed. Firstly, a group of convergent weights vectors are obtained by the adaptive sidelobe canceller. Secondly, the beampattern is computed using the convergent weights vectors and theoretical manifold array. Finally, the azimuth angle corresponding to the notch on the beampattern is obtained by searching the notch in deep color. The estimation precision of the proposed method is higher than that of the conventional beam scanning. The method is quite applicable in engineering. The effectiveness of the method in this paper for typical receiver array is testified by computer simulation.
