Abstract

The stress-strain curves for a special steel and a WMo alloy have been measured by using the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) technique where the bar was of 3.17 mm in diameter. Through the test process observation and the result analysis, some issues encountered in the tests at high strain rates are discussed.
