Abstract
Digital watermarking is a method for copyright protection of multimedia in a network environment. A new watermarking algorithm for still images based on the classification of image features is presented. The watermark strength which is embedded in the block DCT coefficients varies with the texture, edge and luminance feature of the image. Therefore, it can ensure the invisibility and enhance the watermark strength simultaneously. The watermark can be detected by exploiting its statistical properties. Experimental results demonstrate that the watermark is robust to several processes such as JPEG compression, luminance altering, contrast altering, Gamma rectification, histogram balance and crop.
