Development of 3D FE simulation system 3D-PFS for metal plastic forming process

Abstract

The validation of simulation results of 3D FEM simulation of plastic forming processes is based on some quick and reliable methods and a valid simulation system. The structure and key technologies of the 3D rigid plastic/rigid-viscoplastic FEM system developed by authors and named 3D-PFS have been introduced briefly. Some examples have been given to demonstrate the reliability of the system. Results show that: this system can be used to simulate both massive forming process and blank forming process, and material flow and forming law can be obtained, so the 3D-PFS system is a strong tool of analyzing metal plastic forming process.
