Abstract

An actual broad-band wide-beam quadrifilar helix antenna was designed to meet the needs of low orbit satellite antenna. A feeding circuit composed of an infinite balun and a broad band power divider was used to broaden the antenna's band. Hybrid FEKO and HFSS were used to design the structural parameters of the antenna. The simulation results fit the measured data, it proves that the antenna is broad band and its beam is wider than 180 in the requested frequency range.
