Abstract

The authors discussed the design of Air Data System (ADS) in this paper, which is an important part of Integrated Electronic Standby Instrument (IESI) of aircrafts. The architecture, modelling and development of the ADS are introduced firstly. The selection of an accurate and reliable pressure transducer is one of the challenges in designing the overall air data instrument. Two Precision Pressure Transducers (PPT) are selected as sensors and a tiny single board computer (686CORE) is selected as the CPU of the ADS. The flight altitude, airspeed and Mach number can be displayed in the Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD).
