Abstract

The authors regret that the correct permissions to use the JAFFE dataset were not sought at the time of publication but have since been granted retrospectively. In addition, Ref. [37] was linked incorrectly to the JAFFE dataset and the following two references were omitted: [38] Lyons, M. J., Kamachi, M., & Gyoba, J. (2020). Coding facial expressions with Gabor wavelets (IVC special issue). arXiv preprint arXiv:2009.05938. [39] Lyons M J. “ Excavating AI” Re-excavated: Debunking a Fallacious Account of the JAFFE Dataset[J]. arXiv preprint arXiv:2107.13998, 2021. Finally, the authors incorrectly stated in the article that they have the right to distribute data from the JAFFE dataset upon request. All requests must be made through the official JAFFE website https://zenodo.org/records/3451524. The authors would like to apologise for these errors and any inconvenience caused.
