Abstract

In order to improve the mechanical strength of the joints between carbon-carbon composites and LAS glass-ceramic, multi-walled CNTs were introduced to reinforce the YAST glass-ceramic interlayer. Both in-situ multi-walled CNTs/YAST and multi-walled CNTs-filled YAST were prepared to join carbon-carbon composites and LAS glass-ceramic. The microstructure and phase composition of the interface were analyzed by SEM and XRD. Results show that the in-situ multi-walled CNTs have a better dispersion in YAST glass-ceramic, and there are some CNTs pulled-out phenomena but no destructive crack in the interface. The average shear strength of the joints by in-situ multi-walled CNTs/YAST reaches 26.07 MPa.
