Communication Topology Generation Algorithm for Orbital Containment Control of Large-Scale Micro- Satellite Cluster

Abstract

The expansion of the micro-satellite cluster scale places higher requirements on the design of distributed systems. The construction of the communication topology is a prerequisite for distributed cluster control. The centralized generation of the cluster communication topology has high computational complexity, poor robustness, and is difficult to meet the requirements of large-scale cluster systems. For a multi-leader-follower microsatellite cluster system, this paper proposes a distributed communication topology generation framework. First, a distributed neighbour selection rule is designed to determine the neighbour set of each follower. The followers only need partial neighbour information to generate the communication topology among the followers. Next, a sub-leader selection algorithm based on node importance is proposed to generate the communication topology between leaders and followers. Finally, combined with the orbit containment control algorithm, the cluster can converge stably to the convex hull enclosed by the leaders with less communication cost and energy consumption. This framework improves the intelligence and self-organisation of the cluster. We are concerned with generating and optimising the communication topology rather than constructing a suitable distributed controller. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by simulation examples.
