Abstract

Chemical sensitization effects of benzotriazole (BZT) on PTG materials were studied, in which polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and silver stearate (AgSt) was respectively used as binder and silver source, and AgBr light sensitive component was obtained from ex-situ preparation. The results showed that sensitized AgBr by BZT could effectively increase the sensitivity of PTG materials; Moreover, both image and fog density would not be formed in a higher amount range of BZT. Maximal sensitivity of PTG materials would be obtained by sensitizing AgBr at 40°C in 70 min, or in the ratio of 0.15 BZT mol/mol AgSt when BZT reacted with AgSt and then mixed with other components of PTG materials.
