Abstract

Flexible batteries have revolutionized smart energy storage. Flexible batteries with benefits of being twistable, stretchable, bendable, and ultrathin have become key power sources for flexible devices, and can be adapt to shape change under the working conditions. Chapter discusses the general metrics to benchmark various flexible batteries and reviews components of flexible batteries. Then, the sealing technology and printed batteries are included to show how the flexible devices are fabricated. The recent prototype flexible batteries are also demonstrated. Lastly, the remaining challenges and future prospects related to flexible batteries are summarized with the hope of giving a guideline to design well-performing flexible batteries.
