Abstract

The cavitation study was carried out for inducer and impeller combination aero fuel centrifugal pumps. Firstly, the cavitation characteristics of the model was calculated theoretically. Then, through the CFD software Pumplinx cavitation performance was simulated in the worst operating conditions of cavitation. The gas-liquid two-phase distribution of this type of pump was given at different NPSH values. Finally, the centrifugal pump's Q-NPSHc curves was predicted, and compared with theoretical calculation and test data. Studies have shown that when the inlet pressure is 0.013177 MPa, it is less than 0.0325 MPa of technical demand. The pump meets the cavitation critical values. Cavitation phenomenon won't be produced within this centrifugal pump operating range. Under different flow, the pump cavitation characteristics curves of theoretical calculations and numerical simulation agree well with the test data, and has a high cavitation performance.
