Abstract

In this paper, a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) leaky-wave slotted antenna (LWSA) array with broad-angle beam scanning is proposed. 11 longitudinal slots are etched on the broad wall of the meander SIW. Trough bending the SIW, the wide-angle frequency sweep is realized. To eliminate the reflected wave from corners of the meander SIW, metallic matching posts are introduced. Simulated results including return loss and radiation properties are given. Over the operating band of the proposed antenna from 9.4 to 10.8 GHz (S11<-10dB), radiation beam scans from -58° at 9.4 GHz, though broadside direction at 10.1 GHz, to 52° at 10.8 GHz, and the gain varies less than 2.1 dB from 8.4 to 10.5 dB.
