Abstract

Refs. 11 and 12 presented methods for determining features in decision table based on rough set theory. In our opinion, the features in decision table can be determined much better by using VPRS theory and the theorem suggested and proved by us. We explain our method in much detail; here we give only a briefing. Theorem 1 in the full paper, result of our research on VPRS, enables us to make our method for determining features in decision table much faster and much easier to implement. The above conclusion that our method for determining features in decision table is much better than those in Refs. 11 and 12 is based on a detailed discussion of the complexities of the three different methods in the full paper. Simulation results, as summarized in Tables 1 and 2 in the full paper, confirm the validity of the above-mentioned conclusion.
