Abstract

Existing closed-loop methods for measuring gyro drift can not meet the precision and speed requirements for initial alignment of INS (inertial navigation system). We propose an engineering open-loop method that can meet the precision and speed requirements for initial alignment of INS in China. For this method, we derived a number of equations that are needed in the process of computing gyro drift. Experimental results show that this method is feasible.
