N2 - As a crucial detection technology in the era of digital transformation, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been widely used in industrial measurement and monitoring. In recent years, the combined use of LIBS technology with other technologies has become an inevitable trend for current and future development, aiming at the diversification of detection functions. In this review, we comprehensively analyze the current status of LIBS in combination with laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy, raman, x-ray fluorescence, acoustic signals, photoacoustic spectroscopy, and hyperspectral imaging, as well as other techniques, and differentiate the respective advantages between LIBS and these techniques. At the same time, we present in detail the systems, working processes and principles of LIBS in combination with other techniques in the form of diagrams, and summarize the current status of the application of these combined techniques in various fields. Finally, we conclude that the combination of multiple techniques can more comprehensively characterize the information of the samples to be tested. In view of the current research situation, we also present new conclusions and future trends in the combined use of LIBS and other technologies, which will help readers to better understand the current trends of LIBS technology.
