Abstract
Spiral bevel gear is an important transmission part in aero-engine, and the tooth root bending stress has direct effect on its natural life and safety. By using the analytical system of spiral bevel gear developed by the authors, the mesh grid models of spiral bevel gear were obtained. We use certain contact arithmetic of ANSYS to perform contact analysis of spiral bevel gear, and obtain the distributions and trend of variation of the tooth root bending stress.
