Abstract

In the full paper, we explain in detail the analysis and optimization of WTA model. In this abstract, we just add some pertinent remarks to listing the three topics of explanation. The first topic is: the analysis of the problem of matching weapons against targets. In the first topic, we first discuss the various factors influencing the matching of weapons against targets and then select the orthogonal experiment scheme out of three possible experimental schemes. The second topic is: establishing the model for matching weapons against targets. In the second topic, after due consideration, we propose discrete model as being suitable and then design it. Again in the second topic, we explain how to determine the assignment of various weapons for optimum effectiveness in attacking various targets, taking into consideration all influencing factors, all weapons, and all targets. The third topic is : the examination of the degree of the correctness of the discrete model. In the third topic, we give an example of seven influencing factors, in which we examine the degree of the correctness of the discrete model with the results of orthogonal experiment. The optimum effectiveness in attacking targets is given in a non-dimensional form. It is 85.9740 for the discrete model against 85.9039 for experimental results, showing preliminarily that the discrete model is satisfactory.
