Abstract

Here we report on a silicon chip-based system for an ultrafast digital polymerase chain reaction (dPCR). We designed and fabricated the chip with over 20 million reaction wells to greatly compartmentalize the DNA mixture solution for prenatal diagnoses. In this paper we focused on the heat transfer during the PCR to perform an ultrafast dPCR in ≈15 min.
