Abstract

Pairwise comparison is an effective means to express decision information, which includes AHP judgment matrix and fuzzy preference relation. As an extension of fuzzy preference relation, interval-valued complementary preference relation (ICPR) has more powerful ability to express experts' assessments. The decision-making based on ICPR is still an open issue. In this paper, an optimality method is proposed to deal with the decision-making problem of ICPR. In our proposed method, first an optimality model is developed to find the optimal fuzzy preference relation in an ICPR. Then, the optimal fuzzy preference relation is transformed into an AHP judgment matrix. Finally, the ranking and weights of alternatives are obtained for the sake of decision-making. An illustrative example has demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method.
