Abstract

In view of the shortcomings of traditional IHS transform and Mallat algorithm in fusing the multi-spectral image and high resolution spatial image, an improved remote sensing image fusion algorithm which combined the IHS transform and stationary wavelet transform was proposed. In addition, illusive contour was obvious when the resolution between the multi-spectral image and high resolution spatial image is different. The position of illusive contour was determined firstly, and then a method was used to eliminate the illusive contour. The proposed method is proved to be more effective in preserving the spectral resolution and improving the spatial resolution than the traditional IHS transform and Mallat algorithm. The illusive contour is well eliminated by our method.
