Abstract

Synthesis of a new metal ion-sensitive polymer and its spectral response for different metal ions were discussed. The polymer is synthesized through the Wittig reaction and it shows ion dependent response for transition metal ions with high sensitivity. It also selectively analyzes Mg2+ ion from alkali and alkaline earth metal ions.
