Abstract

Raspberry-like particles are a type of special particles with higher surface roughness, larger specific surface area and higher light scattering comparing with conventional smooth particles. They had been found extensively potential applications in the aspects of particles self-assembly, construction of superhydrophobic and superhydrophilie coatings because of their unique morphologies and designable surface properties. Based on their chemical constitutions, there are three types of raspberry-like particles: inorganic/organic, inorganic/inorganic and organic/organic. There is no universal method to prepare raspberry-like particles so far due to the variety of their morphologies and compositions, In this paper, the advance of the preparations and applications of raspberry-like particles were reviewed.
