Abstract

A two-wavelength optical method used for the combustion temperature measurement of solid propellant under SRM operating condition was developed and verified. The temperament measurement results of several solid propellants demonstrated the validation of the method in high temperature measurement. The variation of the combustion temperature with combustion chamber pressure was obtained, and the result was basically accordant with theoretical heating calculation results. The test results indicate that the two-wavelength optical method shows promising prospect as a real-time and fast response means to dynamically measure the high combustion temperature of solid propellant, especially the high energy solid propellant in harsh combustion environment.
