Abstract

In practical applications such as transmissions between nodes in underwater acoustic networks, underwater acoustic communication is limited by the underwater acoustic channel and the hardware. In order to avoid inter-block interference (IBI) and to formulate circular convolution, cyclic-prefixes have been widely used in underwater acoustic OFDM systems, which induces severe spectrum efficiency reduction. In this paper, we introduced a CP-free OFDM system with the help of time-reversal. Simulation results under Rayleigh channel and real underwater channels measured in Danjiangkou Lake of China are presented to show the advantage of the proposed system.
