N2 - In practical applications such as transmissions between nodes in underwater acoustic networks, underwater acoustic communication is limited by the underwater acoustic channel and the hardware. In order to avoid inter-block interference (IBI) and to formulate circular convolution, cyclic-prefixes have been widely used in underwater acoustic OFDM systems, which induces severe spectrum efficiency reduction. In this paper, we introduced a CP-free OFDM system with the help of time-reversal. Simulation results under Rayleigh channel and real underwater channels measured in Danjiangkou Lake of China are presented to show the advantage of the proposed system.
