Abstract

Ship supportability is one of the most decisive factors in ship evaluation and influence greatly on the ship's ability to achieve its goal. In this paper, a new mathematic model is built using both AHP method and DS evidence theory to evaluate the ship supportability. The evaluation indexes are selected and ranked by its importance calculated by AHP method and the index system is built. Based on the information fusion model created using the DS evidence theory, the belief function related to the evaluation index is obtained, from which the ship supportability is evaluated. This new approach reduces errors and uncertainty in the expert scores and is able to obtain the ship supportability evaluation result accurately and efficiently.
