Abstract

A novel wind field calibration and reconstruction method applied to quadrotor is proposed in this paper through the utilization of inertial measurement units. The realationship between the attitude of the quadrotor and the wind field information is utilized to obtain wind speed and direction. Compared with the traditional method, only inertial sensors are required in our approach rather than extra sensors to estimate the wind filed. Wind information obtained by the experimental flight data of quadrotor highly coincided with the results from the automatic weather station, which manifested the effectiveness and accruacy of our method.
