A novel two-stage resource allocation model under pervasive computing environment

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

To our knowledge, there is no paper in the open literature dealing with the topic mentioned in the title. Pervasive computing aims to achieve the user-centered and invisible computing paradigm. Section 1 of the full paper describes the characteristics of resource allocation under pervasive computing environment. In what follows, the resource allocation includes both the allocation of physical resources and that of semantic resources. Section 2 is entitled two-stage resource allocation model; the first stage realizes the resource mapping between users' stochastic evolving tasks and semantic resources and the second stage realizes the resource mapping and adjusting between physical resources and semantic resources. Subsection 2.1, with the help of Figs. 1 and 2, explains the user-level resource allocation and subsection 2.2, with the help of Figs. 3 and 4, explains the resource-level adaptive adjustment. Finally, section 3 presents the experiments and the discussion of the results which shows preliminarily that our novel two-stage resource allocation model is effective to a certain degree.
