Abstract

The noise in constant beam-width beam space is spatially correlative and spectrally color, which affect the performance of broadband beam space high resolution DOA estimator. Based on the analysis of noise property in constant beam-width beam space, a weighted signal-subspace spatial-spectra (WSS) estimator in constant beam-width beam space is proposed in this paper. This method correctly expresses noise subspace using both eigenvalues and eigenvectors of broadband beam space covariance matrix. Thus it overcomes the effect of the beam space noise and improves the performance of broadband beam space MUSIC algorithm. Computer simulation results show that the correctness and efficiency of the new method.
