Abstract

Over the last few decades, artificial Neural Networks (NNs) has been studied well. NNs usually was used in prediction and decision making model. The key problem to design the NNs is to determine its structure. In this paper, we present an expert system based on NNs, and an efficient method is provided to determine the number of the hidden layer nodes. We take the NNs-based expert system for highway construction scheme as an example to demonstrate the feasibility of this method.
