Abstract
A zero refractive index metamaterial is designed, and the zero refractive index is caused by the magnetic resonance. Based on the metamaterial, a zero index lens antenna is designed, fabricated, and measured. Due to the wave converging effect of the zero index lens, the gain of the new designed antenna reaches 11.7 and 4.8 dB higher than the original antenna without the lens. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
