Abstract

This paper proposes a kind of broadband omnidirectional mono-pole antenna based on the gradual radiation structure. The proposed antenna covers the whole X band from 8 to 12 GHz. The design and test results of the antenna are presented and discussed in this paper. In order to confirm the results, the antenna is simulated and tested. The simulated results are in good agreement with the test results. The results show that |S11| of the antenna is below -10 dB in the X band, and its gain is higher than 0 dBi in most directions.
