Abstract
In order to deal with cutter collision in open blisk NC machining and the instability of tool axis, a control method of cutter-axis vector for 4-axis NC machining based on the control curve of tool axis is presented. The fundamental principles in control of cutter-axis vector for four axes are discussed. Through calculating the swinging interval of the cutter center in the collision-free tool axis for four axes, the control surface in the collision-free tool axis for 4 axes is established. According to the rule of generation of the control curve, the specific algorithm for generating the cutter-axis control curve on the control surface is given. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can not only solve the problem of cutter collision in open blisk NC machining, but also avoid blade bite injury caused by cutter axial mutation, thus improving the quality of blade machining significantly.
