Abstract

A novel circularly polarized open-end circular waveguide antenna is studied. A pair of metal blocks is added to the circular waveguide cavity to generate circular polarization. The dimension of the metal blocks is adjusted for achieving good axial ratio characteristics of the new antenna. The frequency band is about 27.7% when s11 is less than -15dB. The axial ratio is better than 3dB over 19.3% frequency band.
