N2 - To reduce vibration and noise of high contact ratio spiral bevel gears,higher-order transmission error was designed based on the modified curvature motion method.First,based on the predesigned higher-order transmission error curve and contact pattern,the pinion target tooth surface was acquired by modifying the conjugated tooth surface derived from the mating gear.Second,the mathematical model of pinion tooth surface based on the modified curvature motion method was established.Finally,an optimization model solved by non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) was proposed to solve the parameters of the modified curvature motion correction.Example shows that the higher-order transmission error can meet the design requirements by the modified curvature motion method.Compared with the traditional transmission error,the high-order transmission error not only can decrease the load transmission error of high contact ratio spiral bevel gear,but also improve the stress distribution,improving the meshing performance of gear pair.
