N2 - Nano-diamond possesses not only excellent physical and chemical properties, but also the special properties at nanoscale, such as great semiconductor property, biocompatibility and optical property, which attracts the attention of researchers. The preparation, properties and applications of nano-diamond materials have been extensively studied. Additionally, as reported, nano-diamond materials with different morphologies require different preparation methods, and exhibit various special properties and application fields. In this paper, the research progress of nano-diamond materials with different morphologies is reviewed. First, the preparation methods of nano-diamond particles, films, diamond nanoplates and diamond nanowires are introduced. Then, the special properties of various nano-diamond materials in optics, electricity and mechanics are described. The applications of nano-diamond materials in civil, biomedical, military and other fields are summarized. Finally, the development prospect of nano-diamond materials is prospected.
