N2 - With advantages of high propulsion efficiency, low fuel consumption and low pollutant emission, open rotor engine has become a typical representative of economical and friendly engine, being one of the potential power options for the next generation of civil aircraft. The development history and research progress of open rotor engine abroad were analyzed from four aspects: overall performance simulation, counter-rotating open rotor design, accessories design, components and engine test. The future research focus and development route of open rotor engine in China are prospected by review the current research situation in detail, and the key issues for developing open rotor engine in China are summarized to provide a reference and suggestion for the future research of open rotor engines.
