Abstract
The uniform Pt nanoparticles are deposited on TiO2 supporters by atomic layer deposition to prepare Pt/TiO2 catalyst. Effect of temperature on catalytic properties of Pt/TiO2 catalyst in the hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde is studied. It is verified that compared with the Pt/TiO2 catalyst not reduced at high temperature, there is an increase of 29.2% for the hydrogenation activity for cinnamaldehyde over the Pt/TiO2 catalyst that has been reduced at 700℃ and an increase of 40.5% for the selectivity to cinnamyl alcohol. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) are used to characterize the morphology, electronic stats and crystal structure of Pt/TiO2-700 catalyst, and the results state that high temperature reduction is beneficial to the increase of Pt nanoparticles' size and the change of the electronic state, and therefore promotes catalytic performances.
